welldweller.guru is an unofficial, English-language guide to Well Dweller, the dark fairy-tale metroidvania developed by Kyle Thompson. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Kyle Thompson, Top Hat Studios, Inc., Doyoyo Games, Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, Microsoft or Valve Corporation, and we are not an official support channel. Game names, artwork and trademarks belong to their respective owners.

How we check facts

Every time-sensitive claim on this site passes the same four steps:

1. First-party first. Where a store listing or the developer publishes a fact, that source wins: the Steam, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox listings, and the developer's own posts. We do not paraphrase a first-party figure from a news article when the first-party page itself is readable.
2. Read it once, publish it once. Review counts move by the minute. When we publish a count we publish the reading we actually took, and we do not pair a count from one reading with a percentage from another.
3. A date on everything that can expire. Prices, discount deadlines, review counts, ratings and file sizes carry the date they were read. That is why a figure here reads as "All Reviews: 96% of 464, checked 2026-09-24" rather than as a bare number.
4. Corrections in public. If something here is wrong we change the page and move its checked date; we do not quietly rewrite it. The contact page explains how corrections are handled.

Where the numbers do not line up

Stores word the same offer differently and numbers get read at different moments, so some figures on this site will not line up with each other. We report each source's own version rather than flattening them into one sentence. Three examples are on this site right now:

• Discounts. Steam calls its −15% an introductory offer; the PlayStation listing attaches its 15% to PlayStation Plus; the Nintendo listing shows a discount without saying whether it is a general sale price or a member price. Each page quotes the store it came from — see Steam, PS5 and Switch.
• Language counts. Steam lists 10 languages and Nintendo lists 9 for the same game. We publish both counts on the pages that carry them and do not invent a reconciled number.
• A count that moves while you read it. Steam's All Reviews line is a live figure served from a CDN cache, so the same page re-read minutes later can return a different total. We publish one dated reading instead of pairing a count taken on one visit with a percentage taken on another — see reviews and scores. Steam also cuts its review data by purchase type and by language, and those wider pools are not printed beside the store page's own line, because they are different statistical scopes rather than rival counts of the same reviews.

What we deliberately do not publish

• Numbers that move by the minute. Live player counts change by hundreds within a day, so they are not facts we can keep true.
• Community size estimates. Server membership and subscriber totals change constantly and imply a scale we cannot verify.
• A score of our own. We do not rate the game, and we never present a third party's score as ours — every score on this site is quoted with its source and its date.
• Unofficial or unlicensed artwork. We do not reproduce the game's key art or screenshots; the visual design here is our own.
• Player claims as facts. If a claim about the game exists only in a community post and no first-party source confirms it, it is labelled as a community report on the community page and nowhere else.
• Video content we could not read. If a capture returned no usable speech or captions, we say so instead of describing footage we never saw — the current example is on the video page.

What this site is not

This is a guide, not a store, not an account service and not an official channel. There are no accounts, no logins, no comments and nothing for sale. We cannot act on your game account, your saves, your purchases or a refund — those go through the game's own channels, described on the contact page.

We also do not claim to have played the game on every platform, and we do not write hands-on impressions. Where this site describes how the game feels to play, the description is attributed to a reviewer or a preview, on reviews and scores and the video page.

Coverage, and what is still missing

This site publishes one home page (what Well Dweller is) and thirteen further pages: release date and platforms, Steam, Switch, Switch 2, PS5, the demo, reviews and scores, what the community is saying, video and trailers, and this about, contact, privacy and terms set.

Three gaps we are stating plainly rather than papering over:

• No demo content breakdown from a first-party source. The most specific published description of what the demo covers comes from a third-party preview, and the demo page labels it as such.
• No official resolution or frame-rate specification for either Switch build. The figures in circulation are a developer's preliminary remark and a reviewer's observation, and the Switch 2 page labels each.
• No score for every platform. Metacritic has not published a Switch average, so reviews and scores prints "no score yet" for that row instead of borrowing another platform's number.

We do not add pages for systems or questions we cannot source. That is a deliberate limit, not an oversight.

Revised 2026-09-25. Every game-level claim on this site is sourced and dated on the page that carries it; the identity and disclaimer wording here follows the same store listings and developer statements that the footer of every page links to.
