Price and the launch discount
| Item | Value | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Base price | $19.99 | Steam store page |
| Current price | $16.99 | Steam store page |
| Discount | −15%, labelled INTRODUCTORY OFFER | Steam store page |
| Offer ends | October 6 (2026) | Steam store page |
The Steam listing presents this as an introductory offer with an end date rather than as a permanent price, so the $16.99 figure should be treated as time-limited, not as the game's standard price. If you are reading this after October 6, 2026, re-check the store page before relying on the number.
Two bundles appear on the same listing, both at −10% while we were reading:
| Bundle | Contents | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Crypt Custodian X Well Dweller (bundle 88321) | Well Dweller plus Crypt Custodian | $35.98 → $33.28 |
| Well World (bundle 89249) | Well Dweller plus Rain World | $40.48 → $37.78 |
Prices are the ones Steam showed on 2026-09-24 in US dollars, and Steam shows different prices by region and by currency — the figure here is the US dollar reading, not a global price.
What the Steam page says is in the box
The listing's feature set is short and specific:
- Single-player. Steam's feature list carries no co-op, no multiplayer and no online component.
- Steam Achievements — the listing states the game includes 41 of them.
- Steam Cloud, so saves follow the account rather than the machine.
- Family Sharing.
- Full Controller Support, with Xbox Controllers and PlayStation Controllers both named on the listing.
- Six accessibility features are listed under four headings: Adjustable Difficulty and Save Anytime (gameplay), Camera Comfort (visual), Custom Volume Controls (audio), and Playable without Quick Time Events plus Keyboard Only Option (input).
The page also states Steam Deck Compatibility: Verified.
Languages, and the audio caveat
Steam lists 10 supported languages with interface and subtitles marked for all of them:
| Interface | Full Audio | Subtitles | |
|---|---|---|---|
| English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese | ✔ | ✔ |
Read that table carefully: every one of the ten languages has interface and subtitles, and no language is marked for full audio. That matches the home page's plain statement that there is no English voice track — the listing does not offer a voiced alternative in any other language either. The Nintendo listing counts 9 languages rather than 10, which is a store-by-store difference; the Nintendo figure is on the Switch page.
Reviews
The Steam store page publishes a single headline review figure — the All Reviews line. As read on 2026-09-24:
- All Reviews: Very Positive — 96% of 464 user reviews are positive.
Two cautions come with that number, and both are about scope. First, it is a live count: it moves by the minute and the page is served from a CDN cache, so the figure is a dated reading rather than a settled total. Second, Steam cuts its review data by purchase type and by language, and those cuts cover wider pools than the store page's own All Reviews line — different statistical scopes that we do not print beside the headline as if they were rival counts of the same reviews. Steam does not label the line with a language or a purchase-type scope, so it must not be read as all languages or as Steam purchasers.
The full caveats, plus the per-platform score comparisons, are on the reviews page, where the reading date is stated alongside every figure because these totals move.
System requirements
Steam publishes one minimum set on the listing, and it names an AMD alternative for both the processor and the graphics card:
| Minimum, as Steam words it | |
|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 |
| Processor | Intel Pentium E2180 (2 \ 2000), AMD Athlon Dual Core 4450e (2 \ 2300), or equivalent |
| Memory | 4 GB RAM |
| Graphics | GeForce GT 220 (1024 MB), Radeon HD 4650 (1024 VRAM), or equivalent |
| Storage | 1 GB available space |
Steam does not publish a recommended set on this page, so we do not print one — a "recommended" list here would be our invention, not the store's. Storage on the Nintendo side is stated separately: 1008 MB on Switch and 1.3 GB on Switch 2, on the Switch page and the Switch 2 page.
The listing also files the game under Steam's own genres — Action, Adventure, Indie and RPG — alongside its popular user tags, which include Metroidvania, Action-Adventure, Dark Fantasy, Horror, Cute, Hand-drawn and Side Scroller. Every store classifies the game a little differently; the PlayStation listing's genres are on the PS5 page.
Rights and credits on the listing
The Steam page credits Kyle Thompson as developer, and lists Kyle Thompson, Top Hat Studios, Inc. and Doyoyo Games as publishers. The copyright block on the page reads that Well Dweller is © 2026 by Kyle Thompson and is licensed exclusively to Top Hat Studios, Inc. None of those parties is connected to this site: see about this guide for the non-affiliation statement.
Checked 2026-09-24. Prices, the discount deadline, the review counts and the feature set are all readings from the Steam store page taken on that date, and each one can change without notice. For the release date itself and the platform list, see release date and platforms.
