The wording matters here. PlayStation's listing attaches the 15% to PlayStation Plus, and its own price-history line says the lowest price in the previous 30 days was $19.99 — which is the undiscounted price. We are reporting the store's own phrasing rather than interpreting it: if you are not a Plus member, check the price you are actually offered before buying, because the listing does not spell out who qualifies for the $16.99.
For comparison, Steam calls an offer of the same size an introductory offer on the Steam page, and the Nintendo listing shows a discount without saying whether it is a general or member price on the Switch page.
What the PS5 version lists
The PS5 entry names the console and no other. The listing does not name a PS4 version, and we have not found a PlayStation Store product for one, so this page describes PS5 only.
On the full game's page, the PS5 version carries one item worth noting:
- Vibration function supported (DualSense wireless controller).
That line appears on the full game and not on the demo product — a small difference, but it is the kind of thing the store states precisely and we would rather report than smooth over.
The genre fields are PlayStation's own: Adventure and Action. That is broader than the "metroidvania" tag Steam uses, which is normal for how each store classifies games, and it is why this site uses the stores' own genre wording on each store page rather than one unified label.
The demo is a separate PlayStation Store product
The trial is not a mode inside the game — it is its own product with its own ID:
| Value | |
|---|---|
| Product ID | UP5155-PPSA38721_00-WELLDWELLERDEMO0 |
| Label | Free Demo |
| Action on the page | Add to Library |
| Rating as shown | 4.55, from 190 ratings |
| Rating distribution | 81 five-star, 8 four-star, 3 three-star, 2 two-star, 6 one-star |
| Offline play | Enabled |
| Players | 1 |
| Cloud streaming | PS5 and PS Portal cloud streaming available with PlayStation Plus Premium |
Two things about that table are worth reading twice. First, the 4.55 from 190 ratings is the demo product's rating, not the full game's — PlayStation does not show a user star rating for the game in the material we read, so this number must not be presented as a score for Well Dweller itself. Second, the demo supports offline play and single-player only, matching the single-player framing everywhere else on this site.
How much of the game the demo covers, and the one thing about it that remains unannounced, are on the demo page.
What we could not confirm
- Whether the $16.99 price requires PlayStation Plus. The store's own wording ties the 15% to Plus, and the page also shows $16.99 as the current price; the listing does not state the conditions in a way we are willing to flatten into a single sentence, so we quote it instead.
- A PS4 version. None is named on the product page we read.
- A user star rating for the full game. Only the demo product carried one in the material we read.
Checked 2026-09-24 against the PlayStation Store concept page for Well Dweller and the store's separate demo product page. Prices, offer end times and rating counts on the PlayStation Store change, and each figure on this page is a reading taken on that date.
